Man's alcohol-fueled attack on his door leads to arrest for pot possession: "An intoxicated man who was found kicking in the door of his own apartment in a North Seattle neighborhood early this morning was treated at a hospital for alcohol poisoning and then arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana with intent to distribute, according to Seattle police.
The man's neighbor called 911 just before 2:30 a.m. and reported that someone was kicking in a door inside an apartment building in the 12000 block of Roosevelt Way Northeast, said police spokeswoman Renee Witt. When officers arrived, they found the 28-year-old man inside the apartment.
He was so intoxicated that he couldn't tell officers his name or give them any other information, and soon lost consciousness, Witt said. The officers searched the apartment for victims or suspects, but no one else was there.
Instead, they found a large quantity of marijuana, bags, a scale and cash, she said. They found the man's ID and determined he had broken into his own apartment.
The man was treated at Northwest Hospital and later booked into the King County Jail, Witt said. Officers secured the apartment and requested a search warrant. Detectives with the department's narcotics unit is investigating.
